Your journey

Travel by plane
Hungary is easily accessible by plane. Most major airports in and around the Netherlands have a direct connection of about one hour and 45 minutes with Budapest. If you travel to the airport by car, please make inquiries beforehand about parking facilities. (where and at what price). Having arrived at Budapest Airport, you could rent a car. All major car rental companies are present and the signs will direct you to the right location. If you have booked  in advance, the car will be waiting for you at walking distance and you can continue your trip to Bonyhád. It’s also possible to travel from Budapest to Pécs by public transport and from there to take a taxi or bus to Bonyhád.

Travel by car
Of course you could also take your own car and travel to Hungary. The trip is about 870 miles and the roads are good. The motorways go round about the major cities and usually there are very few traffic jams.
Please, take the following into account.  At the borders to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary you will have to buy road vignettes. To do this, turn off from the motorway. The places where you can buy these vignettes are very poorly marked. You could easily pass them.
Do you travel to Hungary through Austria? Then you are also charged a toll for driving on the roads.
